(Vargo) Eggens
May 22, 1945 – January 18, 2015
Phyllis V. Eggens, 69, of Warren, passed away peacefully in her home under the care of hospice on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 8:45 p.m. with her family by her side.
Phyllis was born on May 22, 1945 in Washington, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Andrew and Verna (Mucho) Vargo.
A 1963 graduate of Beth Center High School in Pennsylvania, Phyllis worked for four years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington D.C., where she was responsible for completing back ground checks on all Federal Agents. Phyllis would then go on to work for J.C. Penny's for over 22 years retiring in 2012.
Phyllis was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren.
She was married in February 1968 to William Eggens and they shared the love of three children, Beth (Jeff) Osikiewicz of Dover, Ohio, William J. (April) Eggens of Vienna and Jessica E. (John) Whitacre of Howland and four grandchildren Cheyenne Eggens, Kayla Bucci, Savanna Eggens and Johnny Whitacre. Phyllis is also survived by her brother Phillip (Chris) Vargo of Mechanicsburg, PA.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home, where a Panachida Service will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Services will begin on Friday, January 23, 2015 with closing prayers to be recited at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Service in SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with the V. Rev. Andrew J. Deskevich officiating.
Burial will follow in Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.
As a sign of sympathy and condolence, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Phyllis's name to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
