Preston
Hoffman
June 2, 1967 – March 1, 2015
Preston Hoffman died unexpectedly at his Boston, Massachusetts home on Sunday March 1, 2015. Preston had been battling serious health issues over the past year. Preston was born on June 2, 1967 in Warren, Ohio. He graduated from John F. Kennedy and Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Relations and Business Management. Preston started his career working as a Legislative Aide on Capitol Hill. He then worked in the Information Technology field and eventually Financial Management firms in San Diego before moving to London where he was the Senior Vice President and Managing Director at Check Free and met the love of his life, Lorraine. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President at Bank of America in Boston Massachusetts where he and Lorraine were married on December 16, 2008. Preston was intelligent, witty, hard working, and an accomplished expert in his field. But most of all he was one of the most social, fun-loving, generous and accepting guys you could ever meet. A common comment upon meeting Preston was that he was a true gentleman. Preston was an enthusiastic football fan, especially of the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Panthers, San Diego Chargers and the New England Patriots. He enjoyed travelling, golfing, and surfing - but mostly hanging out with friends. He left a lasting impression and cultivated great friendships in every place he went. Preston is survived by his wife, Lorraine Hoffman; his mother Olga Hoffman of Warren, Ohio; his brother William Hoffman (Lauren) and children Justin & Nicole of Charleston, SC; his sister Christie Talbert (Brian) and children Davis & Hayden of Pleasanton, CA. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Leroy Hoffman. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Warren, Ohio with the funeral immediately following at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Preston would be deeply touched if any donations could be made to a very good friend of his, Michael Van Huffel. His long-term suffering was of great concern to Preston and we know he would love to make a difference in Michael's life.
