"Dick" Zabik

Howland - Richard J. "Dick" Zabik, 75, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at his residence. He was born August 27, 1940 in Steubenville, OH, the son of the late Bruno and Laura Zabik. He was a 1958 graduate of Cleveland East High School. In 1963 he received a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Youngstown State University. He came to Warren in 1971 from Cleveland where he lived since 1942. He retired in 2008 from Thomas Fok and Associates in Youngstown as Chief Engineer after 23 years. Previously he worked at Lynn, Kittinger and Noble Engineer in Warren for 14 years. Dick was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He enjoyed playing his accordion, bowling, playing cards and especially spending time with his family. He is survived by his four children Julee (Jeff) Klima of Westerville, OH, Ann Marie (Bill) Lee of Wyckoff, NJ, Christopher (Nora) Zabik of Chagrin, Falls, OH and Joseph (Danielle) Zabik of Maplewood, NJ, eight grandchildren Rhyan, Grace, Sean, Megan, Rose, Clara, Harrison and Caroline, and three sisters Bernadette Syroney of Willowick, OH, Dorothy (Phil) Dubensky of Commerce Twp., MI, and Janet (David) Howell of Mason Neck, VA. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Carol Zabik who he married September 4, 1965 and passed away January 7, 2013. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren with Rev. Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Burial will be in Howland Twp. Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Richard's name to MVI Hospice, 4891 Belmont Ave. Youngstown, Ohio 444505.
