Richard A. Perhacs

WARREN - Richard A. Perhacs, 86, passed away on September 17, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital. 

He was born on March 17, 1940, in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, the son of Alexander and Margaret Toth Perhacs.

Richard will be remembered as a kind and sweet man who was adored by everyone who knew him. He built a life marked by devotion to his family, dedication to his work, and a genuine enjoyment of the people and pastimes he loved most.

He graduated from Kent State University and was a member of Sigma Nu during his time there. In his professional life, Richard worked as an HR Supervisor for Packard until his retirement in 1997. His steady career reflected the same dependable and thoughtful nature that so many appreciated in him throughout his life.

Outside of work, Richard embraced life with enthusiasm. He was an avid golfer and took special pride in accomplishing a few holes in one. He also loved boating and fishing, and he especially enjoyed traveling down south in the winter with his wife, Sylvia. These interests brought him happiness and created many treasured memories over the years. Richard will be remembered most of all for his jolly personality and his sense of humor. It was rare for him not to be laughing or cracking a joke. He was also very innovative and was always working on the next million dollar invention.

Richard is survived by his wife, Sylvia Perhacs, whom he married on September 19, 1992. He is also survived by his daughter, Joy Boatright of Tennessee, and her husband, Cody; his son, Mark Perhacs of North Carolina, and his wife, Beth; his son, Eric Chasko of California, and his wife, Amy; and his son, Jason Chasko of Warren, and his wife, Gina. He is also lovingly remembered by his nephews, Rick and Frank Napolitan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Perhacs; and his sister, Yolanda Napolitan.

Private services were held with family at Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Miron Kerul-Kmec.

Professional arrangements were handled by Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel.
