Champion - Rita DeCapito, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at her residence. She was born February 14, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles and Julia Boughner. Rita retired from John F. Kennedy High School cafeteria as a cook after 25 years. She previously had worked Cox Lithographic Printing Company for 10 years. She was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Champion. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, and playing cards. She is survived by her husband Philip DeCapito who she was married to for 58 years, five children Philip O. DeCapito of Champion, Teresa "Teri" (Bruce) Dewey of Howland, Karen (Wayne) Wires of Cortland, Maria (Sean) Butcher of Southington, and Cathy (Ted) Hoerig of Strongsville, ten grandchildren Phil DeCapito, Lauren (Tom) Groves, Tom (Vanessa Dewey, Elliot Dewey, Brian (Valerie) Wires, Tim Wires, Kevin Wires, Kyle Butcher, Nick Hoerig, and Mitchell Hoerig, one great grandchild Oakley Wires, a sister Peggy Leonard of Girard , a sister-in-law Sue Boughner of McDonald, and brother-in-law Robert Flannery of Struthers. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Joseph, Raymond, Fred and Donald Boughner, and four sisters Frances Fecko, Irene Berard, Joanne Flannery and Wanda McCullough. Family and friends may call Monday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at St. William Church 5411 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, Ohio 44483. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 12:00 noon at the Church with Rev. Michael D. Balash officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
