Robert A. "Bobby" Martin, 83, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Bobby was born June 19, 1928, in Gypsy, W.Va., the son of Robert O. and Eva Marie Tucker Martin.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Bobby retired from CJ Rodgers Transport of Melvindale, Mich., in 1991. He was of the Catholic faith, and enjoyed hunting, puzzles and reading.

Bobby's wife, Victoria "Vicky" Raphoon Martin, whom he married July 3, 1949, passed away June 18, 1992.

Bobby is survived by his companion, Rose M. White of Warren; two sons, David L. Martin of Washington State and Rick A. Martin of Howland; three daughters, Vicky L. Martin of Florida, Tammie Gilmore of Norman, Okla., and Theresa Martin of Warren; three brothers, John Martin of Boston, William Martin of Florida and Ken Martin of Lordstown; a sister, Shirley Hawkes of Warren; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Bobby also leaves his extended family, Neil Hane and family, Jeannette Jenkins and family, and Bruce Simmons and family.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Calling hours will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Sinchak and Sons Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Blessed John Paul Parish at St. Pius X Catholic Church, preceded by a 9:20 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.
