Obituary

Warren – Robert J. "Bob" Dailey, 91, of Warren passed away on Thursday afternoon, February 27, 2025 at Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge.

Bob was born on February 8, 1934 in Warren, OH, a son of Joseph and Cecelia (Sloan) Dailey.

Bob attended St. Mary's High School in Warren and then enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. Serving during the Korean War, Bob earned the rank of Corporal and received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and UN Service Medal, along with an honorable discharge for his service.

Upon returning home, Bob worked for Van Huffel Manufacturing for over 20 years and then for Halman Inc. Fabricating as a laborer until his retirement. Outside of work, Bob was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren and a proud 45 year member of AA, earning his 45 year coin of sobriety on January 4, 2025. Bob was an excellent cook and a great storyteller. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob will always be remembered by his wife of 50 years, Catherine "Kay" Dailey of Warren, whom he married in Winchester, VA in 1975; brother, Michael (Maribeth) Dailey of West Farmington and many loved nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by seven brothers, William "Bill," Charles, Regis, Joseph, Philip, Fr. John "Jack," and Thomas Dailey and three sisters, Patricia Wonders, Eileen Opalinsky and Geraldine "Geri" Dailey.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Bob on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 4 to 6pm at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE.

Additional Calling Hours will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 10 to11am at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish - St. Mary's Church, 232 Seneca Ave NE, Warren, OH 44481.

A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 11am with Rev. Ed Stafford presiding. Military Honors by the United States Marine Corps will follow the Funeral Mass.

A private burial will be on Monday, March 10, 2025 at All Souls Cemetery.

Bob's family wishes to express their gratitude to his daily caregivers and nursing staff, Alicia, Kim and Heather, for their compassionate and dedicated care towards Bob over the last five years. Additionally, a special thanks goes to the staff Buckeye Hospice for their presence and guidance.
