Obituary

Niles – Roger C. Burns Sr, 92, of Niles passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Joseph Health Center.

He was born August 25, 1924, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Jack & Florence Burns.

He came to Warren in 1940 and retired in 1985 from WCI formerly Republic Steel as bricklayer in the blast Furnace Department after 28 years. Roger was a member of St. Stephens Church in Niles, a Trustee at the VFW Post 1090, Girard Army & Navy Garrison and the Warren Moose 186. He enjoyed jig saw and cross word puzzles.

Roger had served our country in U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and WW II.

Roger is survived by his son Roger C. "Buddy" (Gladys) Burns, Jr. of Niles, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Dorothy "Tiny" Fauceglia of Howland.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn J. Burns wo he married November 15, 1944 and passed away February 12, 2014, son David "Skippy" Burns, two grandsons David Jr. and Matthew Burnsand two sisters Jerry Ruks and Jackie Amber.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio.

A service will be Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. James Korda officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
