Mecca - Shirley A. Loomis Gillen, 95, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital after a fall at her nursing home. She was born August 27, 1918 in Limestone, PA. the daughter of Hazel Whitehead and Joseph Parsons. Shirley came to Warren in 1954. She had previously worked at Hillside Hospital, Carlisle's, and Livingston's. She was a member of West Mecca Methodist Church. Shirley enjoyed gardening, ceramics, shopping and visiting with friends for breakfast in Cortland. She is survived by her four children Nancy A. (Edward) Meeker of Mecca, twins Ronald (Barb) Loomis of Warren, Raymond (Cathy) Loomis of Leavittsburg , Tina (Keith) Hartman of Johnston, and daughter-in-law Janice Loomis of Mecca, fifteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a sister Barbara Jean of Cleveland. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Edward C. Loomis and a son Edward R. Loomis, one brother and two sisters. Family and friends may call Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Private Service will be held on Monday.
