Obituary

Warren – Silvio Taddei, 93, passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. Joseph Health Center.

He was born December 21, 1923 in Collelongo, Italy, the son of the late Monfredo and Elisa (DiScenna) Taddei.

Silvio started to do Auto Mechanic work then went to fight in the Italian War during WW-II. He then was held as POW by the Germans. He emigrated to the United States in 1950, settling in Warren. He and his cousin Mark Abruzzi operated the A&T Garage, from there he built West Side Transmission Shop. He later partnered with his son Anthony Taddei and Gordon Kawecki. Silvio was the owner and operator of West Side Trans Missions from 1960 until he retired and sold the business in 2010.

He leaves his longtime companion, Carolyn Ross of Warren, his children Carol (Bernie) Purvis of Mobile, AL, Frederick (Lynnette) Taddei of Warren, Anthony Taddei of Cortland, Carlo Ross and Elisa Long both of Warren, ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Loretta Taddei whom he married November 11, 1950.

Family and friends may call Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE Warren, Ohio 44483.

A service will be Monday at 10:30 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
