Stephen M. LaBanc, 47, of Mecca, passed away peacefully at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House in Poland following a short but courageous fight with metastatic esophageal cancer.

Stephen was born in Warren on July 30, 1970 a son of the late Robert E. Sr. and Deirdre "Dee" Peters LaBanc and was a lifelong area resident.

Of the Catholic faith, Stephen was a member of the Cortland Moose Lodge #1012 and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by two brothers Robert "Bob" (Lisa) E. Jr. of Howland and Kevin "Scotty" of Mecca; aunts Dorothy LaBanc Marchio of Howland and Linda James LaBanc of Warren; nieces Elizabeth, Victoria and Jennifer Kristie LaBanc; numerous cousins and by a host of friends.

Besides his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by an aunt Mary Ann Kaszowski and uncle Paul P. LaBanc Jr.

Family and friends will celebrate Stephens life on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Cortland Moose Lodge #1012, 6400 St. Rt. 46, Cortland, Ohio 44410.

A caring cremation was held under the guidance of the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home, 330-392-5691.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Stephen's name to the Hospice of the Valley Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
