Warren - Stephen E. "Steve" Kopnicky, 77, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born August 17, 1938, in Uniontown, PA, the son of the late Stephen and Blanche Kopnicky. He was a graduate of Georges Township High School and came to Warren in 1956. He retired from American Welding in Niles as a fabricator after fifteen years. He previously had worked as the Property Manager for Albee Homes for ten years. Steve was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church), a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul, and a member of the Niles Masonic Lodge #794. He enjoyed playing polka music and was a member of the Melody Knights Polka Band. He is survived by his wife Carole Kopnicky whom he married October 10, 1959, two children Michelle (William) Haas of Davidson, NC, Steven (Kathleen) Kopnicky of Indian Trail, NC, two grandchildren Alex Haas and Michael Kopnicky, a sister Roberta Nestor of Lemont Furnace, PA, two sister-in-laws Sandra Guarnieri of Warren and Andria (Ronald) Crawford of Warren and numerous dear nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE Warren, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church) with Rev. John R. Lody officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
