Cortland - Steve J. Zumerling Jr., 75, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016. He was born July 28, 1940, in Warren, Ohio the son of the late Steve J. and Mary Zumerling. He was a 1958 graduated of Warren G. Harding High School. He retired from Packard Electric as a heat treat operator after 30 years. Steve was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren, and the Vienna Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed riding in classic cars especially convertibles, motorcycles, gardening, target shooting and he especially enjoyed his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Bernadette Zumerling who he married November 24, 1962, a son Mark (Janeen) Zumerling of Chagrin Falls, a daughter Renee (Nick) Karousis of Cortland, and five grandchildren Mark Jr, Jason, Matthew, Jayden and Johnna. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Todd M. Zumerling and a brother Joseph Zumerling. A Funeral Liturgy will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr Simeon B. Sibenik officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
