Susan Hall, 76, of Niles and formerly of Warren, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 3:11 a.m. at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles after suffering a stroke.

Susan was born on September 17, 1939 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late George and Alice (Witkowski) Sable.

Susan graduated from Youngstown State University in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.  She spent the majority of her career in education and truly loved teaching.  She was honored as a recipient of an A+ teacher of the year award in 1997.  In 2004, she retired from Sts. Peter & Paul School in Warren after 16 years of teaching.

She enjoyed crafts, and caring for her flowers and plants.  She was an expert seamstress and over the years made numerous outfits and clothes for herself and family.  After retiring, she mastered machine embroidery and produced beautiful items for family and friends.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-SS. Cyril & Methodius Church.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, George after 46 years of marriage, daughter Gretchen Wunderlich, grandchildren Eric, Isabella, and Theresa Wunderlich all of Salem, Oregon; sister Annabel O'Brien of Warren; brother Dr. George Sabol of Aztec, NM; along with various nieces and nephews.

Per Susan's wishes cremation has taken place.  A Mass of Christian Burial with cremation rite will be offered at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with Fr. Christopher Henyk officiating.

Material contributions can be made to the Animal Welfare League or Hospice of the Valley.
