Obituary

Warren - Thelma D. Jacon, 86, passed away May 1, 2015 at Lake Vista of Cortland following a long illness. She was born January 15, 1929 in Warren, the daughter of the late William and Viola Dinko. Thelma retired in 1999 from Eastgate Pharmacy where she was employed as a Pharmacy Tech. Prior to her employment at Eastgate, Thelma worked for many years at Kozy Korner Candies. She enjoyed playing the lottery, bingo and going on gambling trips with her sister-in-law. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of St. John Paul II Parish (formerly St. Pius Church). On July 20, 1957, she married Sam A. Jacon. They shared 46 years of marriage together until his passing on December 21, 2003. Memories of Thelma will be carried on by her daughters, Cheryl (Don) DiGiacobbe and Lisa Jacon of Cortland, Annette (Larry) Batovksy of Niles and Angela (Randy) Smith of Howland, a son, Frank (Barb) Clementino of Champion and a sister-in-law, Donna Dinko, of Niles, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by a brother, William Dinko, and a daughter-in-law, Joan. Thelma will always be remembered by her children as a loving Mother and wife who provided a wonderful home to her family in the most unselfish ways. Friends may call Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Paul II Parish (St. Joseph Church) 420 North St. NW, Warren, Ohio 44483 with Rev. Christopher Henyk officiating and Rev. James Walker concelebrating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thelma's name to Lake Vista of Cortland, Employee Christmas Fund, 303 N Mecca St., Cortland, Ohio 44410 or St. John Paul II Parish, 1401 Moncrest Dr NW, Warren, Ohio 44485.
