Champion – Thomas G. James Sr., 79, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Windsor House in Champion.

He was born January 10, 1937, in Newton Falls, Ohio the son of David and Opal James.

He retired from Copperweld Steel as an inspector in the finishing department after 42 years. He has since been an active member of the Moose Lodge and Masonic Temple. His hobbies included: riding his motorcycle, cooking, fishing, bocce, skiing and flying planes. He enjoyed Ohio State sports, Cleveland sports and above all any sport that included his grandchildren. Finally, he was at his happiest when he was with his family and friends. He was the ultimate people person.

He is survived by his children Tammy (Craig) Nicholas of Warren, Mark (Monica) James Arlington, TX, Thomas James Jr. of Champion, Jesse (Debbie) James of Champion, and Jonny (Sandy) James of Estera, FL, twelve grandchildren Natalie (Jim), Abby, Olivia, Jason (Mellisa), Stacy (Chance), Mike (Molly), Kimberly, Brooke, Danielle, Zachary, Brandon and Paxton, one great grandchild Averie, and a sister Marjorie Drass of Cortland, and his ex-wife Sondra James Pinney of Estero, FL.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley James, and a son Donald James.

Family and friends may call Monday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday               from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.

A service will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Champion Twp. Cemetery.
