WARREN -Thomas J. Yurtin passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 5, 2016 at Cleveland Metro Hospital as a result of an accidental fall at home. He was seventy-three years old. T.Y. was born in Warren on April 13, 1943 the son of Frank and Rose Yurtin. He was a 1961 Alumni of Warren G. Harding High School and also attended Kent State University. T.Y. served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and following his discharge he went to work for General Motors in Lordstown in the accounting department before his retirement. He was an avid sports fan and had enjoyed gardening, and riding his motorcycle. In 2006 he won a trip to Hawaii for ten people from the Regis and Kelly Live TV Show. His favorite saying was "T.Y. from the Buckeye stood tall and did it all." He leaves behind his wife the former Sally Madusjeski; and his sister Dolores "Dee" Scerba of Warren; niece Doreen (Jim) Kukral of Seven Hills, OH; and by his great-niece and great-nephew Hailey and Jayce.. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday December 10, 2016 at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Road in Warren with Father Christopher Henyk officiating.
