Obituary

Champion - Treva C. McCauley, 71, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at Lake Vista in Cortland, with her loving husband by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. . She was born January 9, 1944 in Artesia, New Mexico the daughter of the late Jack and Iva Phillips. She was a graduate of Artesia High School in New Mexico. Treva had belonged to the Disabled American Veterans Woman's Chapter 11, American Legions Post 737, OCCL, she volunteered for Hospice, bell ringer for the Salvation Army, and was a Cub Scouts Den Leader and Brownie Leader. Treva had many enjoyments during her lifetime. She enjoyed reading, embroidering, taking pictures, shopping, camping and traveling and driving in all 50 states. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Darrel K. McCauley Sr. whom she married July 7, 1962, a son Darrel K. (Sherri Miller) McCauley Jr. of Champion, a daughter Karla (Burton "Skeeter") Baird of Lowellville, four grandchildren Darrel McCauley III, Kayla Miller, and Cole and Kyle Baird, and a brother Dwight (Sheila) Phillips of Artesia, NM. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Jack and Don Phillips and a sister Patricia Phillips. Family and friends may call Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Service will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Chaplin Dan Tayman of Senior Independence Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Champion Twp. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Treva's name to Senior Independence Hospice 6715 Tippecanoe Rd. Canfield, Ohio 44406 or the Disabled American Veterans 2044 Youngstown Rd.
