Champion - A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church with Father Bernard Schmalzried officiating, preceded by a 9:20 a.m. prayer service held at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd. N.E., for Vinzina "Virginia" M. Santone, 96, who passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She was born November 14, 1917 in Leavittsbug, Ohio the daughter of Michael and Maria (Vacca) Paul. Virginia was a graduate of Leavittsbug High School. She was an active member of St. William Church where she volunteered for 30 years in various activities and also with Mobile Meals . Virginia was full of life and energy and well into her 80's she was still playing golf, bowling and cutting her lawn. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, socializing with family and friends and baking all her fabulous cookies. Her husband Ewalt A, Santone whom she married October 21, 1939 died July 18, 1983. She is survived by her two daughters Maria Carson and Florence Prokop both of Howland, five grandchildren Michael (Michelle) Prokop of Hartford, Ewalt (Gail) Prokop of Kentucky, David (Laura) Prokop of Howland, Robert (Gina) Carson of Cortland, five great grandchildren Jonna Carson, Taylor Carson, Kelly Prokop and twins Jacob and Alex Prokop, a brother Nicholas Paul of Niles and many nephews and nieces. Besides her parents and husband Virginia was preceded in death by two sons-in-law Ted Prokop and Harvey Carson, a brother Joseph Paul and three sisters Jenny Ciferno, Margaret Fincham and Helen Robinson Friends may call Friday, January 31, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 9:00 to 9:20 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta.
