Wanda V. Synowka, 91, of McDonald, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 5:59 p.m. in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown.
Wanda was born on January 18, 1923 in Campbell, the daughter of the late Valentine and Veronica (Krzys) Bienko and was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
A graduate of cosmetology school, Wanda was a licensed cosmetologist.
A homemaker, Wanda was a longtime and faithful member of the former Christ Our King Catholic Church in Warren, where she was an active member of the 50+ Club and Altar and Rosary Society. Wanda was currently a member of St. Rose Church in Girard.
She enjoyed crocheting and doing crafts. She enjoyed the challenges of word search puzzles, but most of all, Wanda enjoyed her 19 great grandchildren, who were all the lights of her eye.
Wanda was married on April 12, 1947 to Joseph M. Synowka and they were married for 47 years until his passing on Christmas Day 1994 and together they shared the love of four daughters, Carolyn (Martin) Olshanski of Cranberry, PA, Kathleen (Ronald) Wagner of Bethel Park, PA, Deborah Sniezek and Lynette Datchuck, with whom she made her home. She is also survived by a sister Stella Binko of Campbell; nine grandchildren Brad (Rhonda) Olshanski, Krysia (Jeffery) Zancosky, Michael (Megan) Wagner, Ron (Jamie) Wagner, Deanna (Rodney) Gonzalez, Jaclyn (Tyler) Maertz, Teresa Sniezek, Kevin Datchuk and Kelli (Ron) Paden; and nineteen great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Joe, Wanda was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, Theodore and Albert Binko and sisters Valerie Sweetko, Loretta Kaffel, Ann Elson and Virginia Crnarich.
Family will receive friends on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. all at the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home, 727 E. Market St. Warren, Ohio.
Funeral Services will begin Saturday, September 20, 2014 with closing prayers to be said at 8:50 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. John A. Zuraw officiating in St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main St., Girard, Ohio.
Burial will immediately follow in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Wanda's name to the American Heart of American Diabetes Associations.
