Warren - William "Bill" Pinion, age 90, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at his home in Warren, OH. He was born February 8, 1925 in Hutchinson, WV to the late John and Catherina Pinion. Throughout Bill's life, family came first. He cherished the traditional Italian Sunday feasts that brought family and friends together around his table. In the 80's & 90' he enjoyed spending his summers camping with a close-knit group of friends and family and in recent years, weekly lunch and dinner gatherings with his brothers and sisters. He was an avid fan of football and devoted Warren Western Reserve and John F. Kennedy supporter. Bill was an honorably discharged World War II veteran serving in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 on the USS Cowpens CVL-25 in the South Pacific theatre of the war. Bill will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is the loving father of Mary Lyn Pinion and Mark Pinion; the cherished grandfather of Daniel Boich, Michael Boich, Allyson Pinion and Michelle Pinion; devoted brother of Mary (Paul) Trina, Tony Pinion, John Pinion, Jim Pinion and Josephine "Nellie" (Joseph) Polichena and his daughter in-law Lisa Pinion. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Pinion, devoted son John Pinion and his sister Flora Snelbaker. Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. James Church. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday at 12:00 PM, at St. James Church, 2532 Burton St. SE, Warren, OH 44484. Fr. James Walker will officiate. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery with full military honors.
