Obituary

Warren – Zoltan P. "Zolt" Kalman, 73, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at his residence after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born October 21, 1943, in Transylvania, Hungary, the son of the late Paul and Irene Kalman.

He came to the USA in 1950 and then to Warren in 1951. He was a 1962 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and had attended Youngstown State University. Zolt retired as the owner and operator of Pine Hollow Springs Water Distribution Company and had been the previous owner of "Z" Vending Machine Company, Zolt was also the proprietor of the Pasta Patch Restaurant. He was a Hungarian Boy Scout and had been an altar server in his youth.

Zolt was an avid card player and had a passion for all things golf, even winning several miniature golf tournaments. He also enjoyed bowling, playing chess, model trains, and listening to opera, in particular Luciano Pavarotti. When not working, and engaging in his many hobbies, Zolt enjoyed taking in the nature around him and would often take joy in feeding the squirrels and birds that frequented his backyard.

He is survived by children Michelle Kalman of Warren, Jennifer (Clark) Walker of Magee, Mississippi, twins Paul (Merika) Kalman of Magee, Mississippi and Hilary (Andrew) Bowman of Mendenhall, Mississippi, step-daughter Valerie Brock of Mendenhall, Mississippi, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his two sisters Shiella Moffett of Warren and Ildi (Nick) Petiya of Howland, Christine Weber his significant other for the last 14 years of Warren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and grand nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may call Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Monday from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.

A service will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be in Zoltan's name to Feed the Children PO Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101and the Warren Salvation Army 270 Franklin Street, SE, Warren Ohio 44483.
