Albert Shinosky

CORTLAND – Albert Shinosky, 85, of Cortland passed away on Tuesday morning, June 11, 2024 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Warren.

Albert was born on June 24, 1938 in Warren, OH, the son of Joseph and Helen (Smurek) Shinosky.

Albert was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and went on to enlist in the Army Reserves. Later, he became a tool & dye maker and worked for Packard Electric for 40 plus years until his retirement.

Outside of work, Albert was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, where he was very active.

Albert enjoyed fixing things and helping others. Whether it was for family, friends or people he had never met, Albert helped everyone and enjoyed doing it.

 Most of all, Albert loved and cherished his family. He loved supporting his grandchildren, especially by watching his grandson’s baseball games. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him

Albert will always be remembered by his daughters, Christine Owen of Georgetown, Delaware and Lori Carson (Anthony, Jr.) of Forney, Tex.; three grandchildren: Matthew Owen, Alexa Owen, and Bryce Carson; sister, Sister Mary Michael PCPA of Hanceville, AL; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Simmons (Dale) of Howland and Bonnie Hake of Fowler; one brother-in-law, Richard Cameron (Joann) of Masury and many loved nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Beverly Shinosky;  brothers Walter, Edwin, Marion, Henry, Victor and John; sisters Lavina Shinosky and Veronica Somplac and two brothers-in-law, Ellsworth “Sonny” Cameron and Dean Cameron.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Albert on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE Warren, OH 44483.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 1:30pm at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Albert’s name to Bella Women’s Care, 1192 North Rd NE, Warren, OH 44483 OR to Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE Warren, OH 44483.
