Anna Marie Baciu

Warren - Anna Marie Baciu (nee Bufalini), 103, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, January 28, 2025 surrounded by family.

Anna was born January 20, 1922 in Tunnelton Pennsylvania to the late Amato and Chiara Stefanacci Bufalini.

She grew up in a large and loving family that included seven brothers and six sisters. Anna was especially close to her twin sister Mrs. Iola Gasparini of Saltsburg Pa. Anna left home in 1947 moving to Warren where she was employed by G.E. Ohio Lamp Works. It was there that she met her husband of 57 years, the late John Baciu Sr.

Anna was a longtime member of St. James Church (St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish). She loved gardening and had a special talent for baking the most incredible cookies. Family and friends will long remember her famous clothes pin cookies which she baked for every wedding she attended.

Anna is survived by two children, John Baciu Jr (fiancée Barb Shaffer Goncz) of Warren and Lori (Daniel) Tonne of Reynoldsburg; four grandchildren, Anthony and Zachary Baciu, Andrew Tonne, and Merritt (Joshua) Adkins; and several great grandchildren. Anna is also survived by one brother, Harry Bufalini of Avonmore, Pa.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Baciu Sr.; brothers Edward, Joseph, Anthony, Leonard, Louie and Carl Bufalini; sisters Elsie Bufalini, Olga Abruzzi, Virginia Ritchey, Iola Gasparini, Emma Boutette, and Leona Poff.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Anna on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 11 to 12:30pm at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren.

There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 1pm at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish – St. James Church Site, 2532 Burton St. SE Warren, OH 44484.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 2532 Burton St. SE Warren, OH 44484.
