Arthur Wolfe Obituary

Champion - Arthur Lee Wolfe (92), of Champion, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Lee was the son of Charles and Bertha (Zeller) Wolfe.  His childhood home was in Mineral Ridge.  He later attended High School in Salem, where he was a drum major in the marching band.  Upon graduation, Lee attended the General Motors Institute to study Engineering.  While working on a co-op assignment at Packard Electric, Lee met the love of his life, Judith Elaine Lisby.

Lee was drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict, prior to graduating GMI, and served state-side as a tank mechanic.  While in the army, Lee and Judy married in 1954.  After his military duty was finished, he completed his degree and worked at Packard Electric for 35 years.

Lee and Judy established a loving home in Bristolville, where they raised five children and Lee planted an apple orchard.  He served on both the Bristol School Board and the Bristol Library Board.

Lee was a long-time member of St. William Catholic church and held several volunteer positions, including greeting people as they entered for services.

Lee had many hobbies in his life including woodworking and collecting antiques.  He played the trombone in the Cortland Community band. Lee and Judy were delivery drivers for Trumbull Mobile Meals for 19 years.

Lee will be greatly missed by his children Carl (Margie) Wolfe, Bonnie (Edwin) Mozingo, Brenda (John) Cligrow and Diana (Brian) Ludwick, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, son Richard Wolfe, grandson Evan Wolfe, a still-born son Baby Boy Wolfe and sister Ruth (Jack) Walters.
