Barbara Dann

Warren – Barbara “Bubba” Dann, 92, of Warren passed away on Sunday evening March 30, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, surrounded by her family.

Bubba was born on October 20, 1932 in Charleroi, PA, a daughter of John S. and Mary (Krempasky) Palonder.

Bubba was a 1950 graduate of Howland High School. Besides being a proud homemaker, she worked at Ohio Lamp and then the Elm Road McDonald’s for many years. Bubba was a 50 year member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren, where she was a kindergarten and Sunday school teacher, cantor, choir member and member of the ladies guild.

Bubba enjoyed planting flowers and listening to polka music. She enjoyed reminiscing with family and friends, especially about the time she won a Shirley Temple look-alike contest as a child. Most of all, Bubba loved and cherished her family. As her family grew, she was always excited to welcome the newest generation by singing nursery rhymes to her grandchildren. She was very proud of the fact that, at one point, there were five generations living at one time. Bubba’s legacy will always be cherished and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Bubba  will always be remembered by her daughter, Linda (David) Gilmore of Warren; grandchildren, Randy Jr. (Rachele) Keller of Cortland, Ryan (Courtney) Keller of Canton, Rachele (Steve Jr.) Cresanto of Mogadore and Jenna (Jason) Stan of Streetsboro; great grandchildren, Austin, Addison, Lucas, Isabella and Paul Keller, Riley Keller, Madison and Logan Stan and Chloe Cresanto; sister, Marlene Steinbeck and lots of loved nieces, nephews and cousins

Besides her parents, Bubba was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Samuel Dann, whom she married on October 3, 1953 at St. Cyril and Methodius Church; her son, Danny Dann and her daughter, Renee Dann.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Bubba on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 10 to 11am at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish - Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE Warren, OH 44483.

A Funeral Mass will follow at the church on Friday at 11am.

Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
