Barbara (Seiple) Datish, age 85, passed away peacefully at Mercy Health-St. Joseph Hospital after an extended illness on September 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 4, 1939 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William and Martha Seiple. She has been married to her loving husband, George Datish, for 64 years.
She was employed by the Kroger Company as a head cashier and trainer for nineteen years after graduating from Newton Falls High School in 1957. In 1976, Barbara transitioned to a new career as a teller at Second National Bank from where she retired in 1994. After retirement, she was a volunteer for nineteen years at St. Joseph Hospital. Barbara was a member of the Child Conversation League and served as a cub scout leader.
Barbara was a devoted Orthodox for sixty-four years, most recently attending Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church. Barbara loved to sew, bake, volunteer and help others. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, Morgan, Grant and Laine. She always enjoyed traveling to Canton, Ohio to watch their games, dance recitals and school activities; she was very proud of each of their career accomplishments in pharmacy, business and medicine.
Surviving is her husband George, daughter Michele Goff, son-in-law Christopher Goff, and three grandchildren, Morgan (Daniel) Tyler, Grant Goff, and Laine Goff, great granddaughter Brooklyn Tyler, sisters-in-law Joann Seiple, Rebecca Seiple, Mary Sankey and Doreen Datish, as well as brother-in-law Robert Datish, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, son George Datish Jr., brothers William, Samuel, Robert, Lee and sister Joan.
Private Services were held for Barbara. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, 1575 Corporate Woods Parkway, Uniontown, Ohio 44685.
