Bartholomew Vardavas Obituary

The family of Bartholomew “Brett” Konstantine Vardavas is saddened to announce his passing on February 6, 2026, at the age of 35.

Brett was born on November 27, 1990, the son of Konstandinos Vardavas and Sheri (Rosa) Sears.

Brett was a 2009 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, where his peers crowned him Homecoming King. He remained in touch with many of his classmates and looked forward to fantasy football each year. Growing up, he played numerous sports. Brett was known to be a kind and gentle soul. He had a heart of gold and a contagious smile that would light up any room.

Brett had a love for culinary arts and never met a recipe he couldn’t improve. He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago. His mastery, determination, and passion led him to the title of Executive Chef and co-owner of Stonebridge Tavern.

Brett had a lifelong love for Ohio sports: The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cleveland Indians. No matter how each team performed year to year, he remained loyal and always enjoyed watching Sunday games with his family. Brett was also an avid Formula 1 fan and enjoyed watching races on his days off. He also loved playing golf with his siblings and friends.

As a devoted and loving big brother, Brett cherished his younger siblings, John (Chandra), Zackary, Angelo, and Marissa Vardavas. The strong sibling bond they share will never be broken, for their love is forever.

Brett held the greatest honor of being an uncle to his nephew, Rhodes. He looked forward to playdates and sharing his love of superheroes. Brett was a kid at heart, and Rhodes will always hold a special place in Brett’s heart.

In addition to his parents, Brett also leaves behind his uncles: Bill (Susan) Vardavas and their children, Callie and Christopher; Christos (Kim) Vardavas and their children, Pete, Katarina, and Nick; Steve (Nicole) Vardavas and their children, Nicholas, Madison, and Leah; Earl (Christina) Callow and their children, Kristoffer and Alex; and John Rosa and his children, Nicholas and Abbie; Aunt Kimberly Rosa; Godparents Savas (Maria) Magiassos and their children, Manoli and Eleni; and his grandparents, John (Kathy) Rosa.

Brett was preceded in death by his cousin, John Rosa Jr., and will be laid to rest next to his Yiayia and Papou, Vartholomeos and Despina Vardavas.

Brett, fly high. Your angel wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
