Warren – Bernadette M. “Bernie” Weston, 82, of Warren passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Cleveland Clinic.
Bernie was born on September 24, 1941 in Uniontown, PA, a daughter of George and Ann (Semen) McKito.
Bernie was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Warren and went on to work as a switchboard operator for many years. She eventually retired from St. Joseph Mercy Health.
Outside of work and in addition to being a proud homemaker, Bernie was a parishioner of St. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Warren. She was dedicated to her faith with a special dedication to saying the rosary. Bernie was an excellent baker and cook. Her specialties included Crackle Cookies, cheese cake and chicken paprikash. Bernie also had a green thumb for all sorts of houseplants. Most of all, Bernie loved and cherished her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Bernie will always be remembered by her children, Dennis (Diane) Brady of Warren, Kevin (Judy) Brady of Pittsburgh, Bryan (Victoria) Brady of Warren, Pamela Brady of Warren, Vera Weston of Austintown and Shaun Weston of Colorado; grandchildren, Benjamin, Zachary and Chloe Brady, Emily and Luke Byers, Ryan and Rebecca Brady, Grayson Weston and Clara Baugh; six beloved great grandchildren; sister, Lynda (George) Ackerman of Bristolville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Bernie was preceded in death by her sister, Palma Kamer and her son-in-law, Victor Byers.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Bernie on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 5 to 7pm at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE.
Additional Calling Hours will be on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 9:30am to 10am at St. Mary and Joseph Church, 232 Seneca Ave NE, Warren, OH 44481.
A Funeral Mass will be on Thursday at 10am at St. Mary and Joseph Church, 232 Seneca Ave NE, Warren, OH 44481 with Rev. Christopher Cicero.
A private burial will be in All Souls Cemetery at a later date
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bernadette’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 979 Tibbetts Wick Rd Suite A Girard, Ohio 44420.
