Caroline Taylor Obituary

Boardman — Caroline V. Taylor, 91, of Boardman and formerly of Cortland and Warren, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, January 5, 2026, at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.

Caroline was born on January 24, 1934, in New York City, the beloved daughter of the late John and Theresa (Gohn) Sapp. She was a graduate of Ford City High School in Ford City, Pennsylvania, and later proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, an experience she valued throughout her life.

After returning home, and in addition to being a devoted homemaker, Caroline worked for the United Telephone Company from the mid-1960s until the 1980s. Through years of dedication and hard work, she retired as Group Chief Operator, a role she carried out with pride.

Outside of work, Caroline found great meaning in her faith. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Warren, where she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society. She also volunteered with Trumbull Mobile Meals, enjoying the camaraderie of friends while helping prepare meals for others in the community.

Caroline found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including bowling, reading, and most of all, time spent with the family she loved so deeply—especially her children and grandchildren. Her gentle spirit, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family will be fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her children, Diane Moneypenny of Warren and Dean (Michelle) Rumbaugh of Canfield; her grandsons, Scott (Laura) Moneypenny of Cleveland Heights and Todd Moneypenny of San Jose, California; her great-granddaughter, Kate Moneypenny; and her cherished Bichon companion, Chloe.

Besides her parents, Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Taylor, and her son-in-law, Steven Moneypenny.

Caroline’s family honored her life with private services and burial at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren, reflecting her quiet wishes and the deep love shared by her family.
