New Market, TN – Dorothy “Dottie” Chester, 83, formerly of Warren went to join her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Chester, on August 30, 2024.
Dottie was born on September 19, 1940 in Grafton, WV. As one of 12 children, she grew up in West Virginia and then moved to Ohio in 1960 after marrying her husband, Bob.
Together, Dottie and Bob owned and operated Chester’s Lounge and Drive Thru and the Chester’s Exxon Service Center on Elm Road for many years.
Outside of work, Dottie was a proud homemaker and enjoyed bowling and camping. After retiring, she and her husband enjoyed visiting various Moose Lodges and American Legion halls where they played Bar Poker. Most of all, Dottie cherished her family and appreciated the time she spent with those she loved. She will be greatly missed.
Dottie will always be remembered by her children, James C. (Tamee) Chester of Ruskin, FL, Barbara L. (Greg) Robey of New Market, TN and Susan D. (Steve) Leapline of Warren, OH; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Chester and 11 siblings.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Dottie during memorial calling hours on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 9 to 10am at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE.
A Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 10am.
Inurnment will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dottie’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital OR to the Wounded Warrior Project.
