Dorothy (Charnas) Tsitlakides

Warren - Dorothy (Charnas) Tsitlakides, aged 98 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Dorothy, a lifelong resident of Warren, was born on October 17, 1925.

She retired in 1990 as a secretary from Ravenna Arsenal after 40 years. Dorothy was an active parishioner at Saint Demetrius Greek Orthodox Church. A member of the Philoptohos Society and the Ikarion Club.

One of her greatest joys was her family and friends. She enjoyed playing word games and puzzles, going to the casinos and scratching off lottery tickets. Traveling and going on cruises was something she looked forward to. Everyone who knew Dorothy loved her.

She was the beloved wife of the late George Tsitlakides, dearest step mother to Michael (Sharon) Tsitlakides, Anna (Nick) Fantidis, and Mary ( Manuel) Koupiaris, and step-grandmother to Kosta (Erin) Fantidis, Eleni (Kosta) Velonis, Dr. George Koupiaris, Nicholas Koupiaris, and step great grandmother to Angelo and Nicoletta Velonis. Dorothy was a wonderful aunt to Bradford (Paulette Moylan) Charnas, Douglas (Marianne Chaconas) Charnas, Elaine (Jim) Maier, Laurel Charnas-Schiller (Todd), Terry (Koula) Charnas MD, Penny Charnas-Kotas (Leo), Olga (John) Stavridis,  Cali Charnas Smith (Richard) and many great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Emanuel and Olga (Glaros) Charnas and her brothers & sisters-in-law, Nicholas (Diamond) Charnas and William (Kathy) Charnas.

Family and friends may pay their respects to Dorothy Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 429 High St. NE, Warren Ohio 44481, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Fr. Constantine Valantasis officiating.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in remembrance of Dorothy’s life, the family asks contributions be made to, Saint Demetrius Greek Orthodox Church429 High St. NE, Warren Ohio 44481.
