Dr. Robert “Doc” Sabatini

Dr. Robert “Doc” Sabatini, 87 of Warren, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, August 9,2024 at home surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on December 8,1936 in Warren, Ohio, a son of Joseph A. and Rose (DiVincenzo) Sabatini.

He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and Marquette University School of Dentistry. He served in the United States Air Force in Montgomery, Alabama as a dentist, prior to returning to Warren, where he opened his first dental practice with his brother, Joe, in 1962 and then continued working at his dental practice, Warren Family Dental Center, with his staff that he loved like family.

Robert was very active and enjoyed golfing, gardening, winemaking, reading and cheering on the Marquette basketball team. He loved spending time in Saratoga Springs, New York as he was an avid horse racing fan. He loved smoking a cigar with a glass of homemade wine listening to Frank Sinatra and telling his family and friends stories of his past.

Robert will always be remembered by his wife, Maryann; son Roberto Sabatini; daughter Lainey (Ed) Duggan, grandson Riley Duggan, brother-in-law Steve Vajdik, sisters-in law Donna Mowery, Tina (Jerry) Franetic, Linda Price and Jackie Vajdik; 17 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Sabatini; brothers, Anthony and Dr. Joseph Sabatini; three sisters, Elaine Sabatini, Yolanda Castilla and Anna Marie Sabatini; and his in-laws, Marge and Steve Vajdik.

Family and friends may pay their respects to Robert Friday, August 16, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish – Blessed Sacrament Church 3020 Reeves Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483 followed by a 2:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at the Church with Fr. Christopher Cicero officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the entire staff of Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice, Jill, and family and friends, for all the wonderful care and compassion shown to Robert and them throughout this difficult time.
