Warren – Edward G. Russell Jr, 87, of Warren passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday morning, April 8, 2026 at his home in Warren.
Edward was born on May 7, 1938 in Youngstown, OH, a son of the late Edward G. Sr. and Catherine (Kinney) Russell.
Edward attended Woodrow Wilson High School and entered the workforce at early age, where he made mufflers for nearly 20 years. He remained a hard worker his entire life as he moved through various positions as a steel worker.
Outside of work, Edward was a talented woodworker and a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with friends and family. Edward also enjoyed working in his garden and a nice relaxing ride on his Goldwing Motorcycle. More than anything, he cherished the time he spent with his family. He adored his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and he will be deeply missed.
Edward will always be remembered by his wife of 65 years, Lois H. (Plant) Russell; daughters, Tina (Thomas) Simone of Howland, Catherine Ramer of Niles, Patricia (Brian) Kelley of Howland and Linda (Kevin) Orvos of Jefferson; grandchildren, Stephen Ramer, Elizabeth (Todd) Leapline, Theora (Will) Weidner, Nicole Humphrey, Julie Ramer, Thomas Simone, Brooke (Justin) Stowers, Tiffany Simone (fiancé, Trip Russell) and Kevin (Sydney) Orvos; great grandchildren, Tristen, Madison, Mitchell, Aaron, Sophia and Julia; sisters-in-law, Ann Plant and Diana Russell and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his brother, James Russell and his son-in-law, Kevin Ramer.
There will be a funeral mass on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 3pm at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish – St. James Church Site, 2532 Burton St. SE Warren, OH 44484. All guests are asked to MEET AT THE CHURCH.
A private burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
