Flora Fakkas Obituary
Warren – Flora E. Fakkas, 91, Warren passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at her residence.
Flora was born February 15, 1932, in Rhodes, Greece, the daughter of Savas and Zenovia (Tzanis) Antoniou.
She came to Warren, in 1966 and retired from Evaline’s as a seamstress after 15 years. Flora was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren, a member of Philoptochos Society, and the Pan Rhodian Society. She enjoyed baking, gardening, cooking, listening to Greek Music and Greek Movies with her husband.
Flora will be missed by her children Despina (Steve) Kourtis, of Warren, Tom E. Fakkas of Warren, Bill E. Fakkas of Sylvania, Ohio, Sotiria “Cindy” Lambis of Warren, Angelo (Colleen) Fakkas of Warren, and Dr. Zenovia (Dr. Peter) Kondolios of Warren, fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and a sister Anna Alevrogianni of Baltimore, MD.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Emmanuel Fakkas whom she married October 29, 1950, and passed away March 31, 1999, a son Savas “Sam” Fakkas, and a son-in-law Charles Lambis.
Family and friends may pay their respects to Flora on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. Trisagion at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, and again Friday, February 2, 2024, from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 429 High St. NE, Warren, Ohio 44481.
A service will be Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Church and the burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
In lieu of Flowers, contributions may be in Flora’s name to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 429 High St. NE, Warren, Ohio 44481.
