Warren – Frank J. Spano Sr., 90, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020.
He was born March 13, 1930, to the late Lawrence and Mary Anastasia Spano.
Frank was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School in 1948 and soon after graduation, he started working for System Auto Body.
Then he heard the calling of the United States Army when he was 20 years old. After being honorably discharged he went to work at Clyde Cole Motor Company where he retired after 35 years as the body shop manager.
On August 6, 1955 he married the love of his life Roselyn and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Frank was a devout Catholic. He was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and served as Eucharist Minister to the home bound and area nursing home
patients.
Frank was a lifetime member of Eagles Lodge and Fraternal Order Police Associates Frank Spano Chapter #12 where he held many different offices. He was also a member of the AHEPA Zeus #88 and Elks Lodge 295. He loved to golf, to fish and to go to garage sales but most of all he loved telling jokes and spending time with his family.
Frank is survived by his wife Roselyn, a daughter Ellen Spano of Warren, a son Frank J. (Diane) Spano Jr. of Warren, grandchildren, Wayne (Hope) Gore of Niles, Paul Gore of Warren, step great grandson Liam Hummel, his mother-in-law Hellen Prince and his dog Trixie.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and sister Catherine Barger who passed away September 27, 2020.
A private family service was held.
Burial was in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
Arrangements are by the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel.
