Warren - With heavy hearts, we announce the falling asleep in the Lord of our beloved Garifallia ‘Rose’ Anastis on Thursday, January 30, at the age of 93.
Born on September 3, 1931 in Weirton, West Virginia, to Sideris and Aphrodite, Rose was the last surviving of ten children.
Rose was a woman of boundless love and selflessness, a truly beautiful soul who spent her life in service to others. She gave freely, not out of abundance but out of the deep kindness of her heart, always ensuring those around her felt loved and cared for. But along with her immense generosity, Rose had a feisty spirit and a quick wit that made her unforgettable. She never hesitated to speak her mind and always did so with a spark of humor and love.
To know Rose was to know warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family. As a beloved friend, aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt, she touched countless lives with her kindness, always putting others before herself. She didn’t just love her family—she helped raise two generations of children, offering guidance, comfort, and unconditional support. Whether it was a small act of kindness, a few thoughtful words, or simply being there when someone needed her, Rose had a way of making everyone feel loved. She never hesitated to give—her time, her heart, or whatever she had—because that’s just who she was. She poured that same selflessness into her community, dedicating her time to causes she believed in, volunteering, and always lending a hand wherever it was needed.
Though her absence is deeply felt, we find peace in knowing that the kindness and love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory be eternal.
