Howland- James Edward Gray,72, passed away Monday January 14, 2019 in a car accident with his daughter Chloe. While they were headed to her gymnastic class.
James was born November 7, 1946, in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late George and Lucy Gray.
James was always there for his daughter which involve her swimming, piano lesson, skating, skiing and dancing lesson. Chloe was his princess. After High School graduation, James enlisted in the US Marine Corps and shortly after basic training, James was sent to Vietnam. He served our country as an artillery observer, until he was wounded in battle and awarded a Purple Heart. James was very proud of his country and was willing to help any veteran who needed assistance. When James returned state side he enrolled in college and graduated as an Attorney. He practiced law in the Trumbull County area for several years before retiring. As a young man, Jim was an accomplished drummer and he recently began playing drums again for the Filipino-American Bible Fellowship in Austintown. Jim also enjoyed flying, skiing and scuba diving.
Jim is survived by his wife Maria.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his first wife Karen Gray who passed away July 7, 2016, sister and brother.
A private family service and burial was held.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions made to the Filipino-American Bible Fellowship Church located at 250 Idaho Road, Youngstown, OH 44515, in behalf of James Gray and Chloe.
