Joan E. Pecorelli

Warren – Joan E. Pecorelli, 94 passed away Friday May 3, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family.

Joan was born Jan 7,1930 in Warren Ohio to the late Glenn and Caroline Lauth Marshall.

Joan was a 1948 graduate of St. Mary High School. She worked as an executive secretary at American Welding and Hull Manufacturing & was named Executive Business Woman of the Year in 1956 by Sigma Beta Phi Sorority. Joan was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a founding member of St Pius X Church and The Altar and Rosary Society.

A nearly 65 year marriage began with her loving husband Sam Pecorelli on June 29, 1957. They were blessed with 4 children 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. As a parent Joan was truly the “Mom of Moms”, leading Girl Scouts, attending baseball games and music lessons, even creating back yard carnivals for the neighborhood. She was active as a volunteer at their schools. Joan was quite the seamstress sewing dance dresses for her daughters and costumes for her grandchildren’s playtime. As a grandma she was a devoted caregiver and was sometimes known as grandma cookie. On quiet days she loved to read novels & complete word puzzles. Joan & Sam enjoyed traveling together and wintering in Florida with their friends and family. She was always eager for spring to arrive and return home to her kids and grandkids. Joan had a loving and caring spirit and leaves behind a legacy of values & traditions that will be remembered and carried on for generations.

Besides her parents, Joan was proceeded in death by her husband Sam Pecorelli, her brothers Donald Marshall, Edwin Marshall and Charles Marshall.    

Joan leaves behind her loving children, Ann (Michael) Toro, James (Stephanie) Pecorelli, Carol (Joe) Shrodek and Amy (Dr. Tracy) Neuendorf. Grandchildren, Carrie (Jason) Biery, Nicole (Pete) Sedello, Matthew Toro, Andrew Gardner, Adam Shrodek, Derek Pecorelli, Maria Gardner, Mitchell Pecorelli, Natalie (Donny) Allison, Angela Toro, Alexa Pecorelli and Lindsey Shrodek. Step grandchildren & their families George (Dr. Katie) Neuendorf, Stephanie Neuendorf, Cynthia (Andrew) Walker. Great grandchildren, Giana Toro, Amelia Sedello, Logan Biery, Olivia Sedello, Samuel Biery, Step great grandchildren Chase Nielsen, Carter Nielsen and many nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.

Family and friends may pay their respects to Joan on Thursday, May 9th from 5-7PM at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd Warren, OH 44483.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 10th at 10AM at St. Mary and Joseph Church in Warren Ohio, 232 Seneca Ave NE, Warren, OH 44481.
