John E. Yoist Sr.

Warren John E. Yoist Sr., 90, of Warren, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, December 30, 2025.

John was born on March 17, 1935, in Alexandria, Louisiana, the son of Burton and Daisy (Gillard) Yoist. He came to the Warren area in 2001.

John began his career with the Boris Kroll Company, where he worked as a fabric inspector for over 12 years until the company’s closure. He later was employed by Caldor’s Retail Store until his retirement. He attended the Church of the Messiah.

John had many passions throughout his life. He enjoyed listening to country music, traveling, and watching Westerns on television. He had a deep love for animals and enjoyed spending time outdoors at Mosquito Lake State Park. John was talented in woodworking and was a member of the CB Club, where he especially enjoyed talking with his friends; most notably his friend Don.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, John E. Yoist Jr., and his brother, Hubert (Melanie) Yoist, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emma (Hays) Yoist; his parents; a brother, Burton Yoist Jr.; and a sister, Willa Ann Brister.

Per John’s wishes, there will be no services at this time, and cremation has taken place.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren.
