Champion – Josephine “Ruby” Jones, 89, of Springfield, OH and formerly of Warren, passed away on Friday May 30, 2025 at home, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ruby was born on October 25, 1935 in Warren, OH, daughter of the late Karl Lozner and Lena Palcich Lozner.
A resident of the Bristolville/Warren area since 1955, she was employed as a press operator at Johnson Rubber and later as a receptionist for Dr. Philip Mahan DDS and then for Dr. Ralph Brock DDS.
Ruby was a member of St. William Catholic Church and enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, reading and being with her family. Camping was a highlight of family time every summer as well as travelling short trips, collecting paper weights, playing Scrabble and eating at local favorite places along the way. She especially enjoyed looking at the fall leaves.
Ruby was married on July 10, 1954 to Richard L. “Dick” Jones. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage until Dick’s passing in 1997. Ruby and Dick had three children, Richard “Rick” Jones Jr. (deceased), Philip (Diane) Jones of Champion and Angela D. (John) Baldwin of Springfield, OH; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Ruby on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 11am to 12noon at St. William Catholic Church, 5411 Mahoning Ave NW, Warren.
A Funeral Mass will follow at the church on Wednesday at 12noon with Rev. Steve Agostino presiding.
Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Dick.
