Linda J. Hernon

Warren – Linda J. Hernon, 85, of Warren passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Windsor House in Champion.

Linda was born on June 11, 1938 in Warren, OH, a daughter of Richard and Minnie Lucille (Johnston) Hernon.

She was a 1956 graduate of Warren St. Mary’s and went on to graduate from St. Elizabeth Nursing School in Youngstown. Linda served as a nurse for many years, working at St. Joseph Hospital and at Hillside Hospital.

Outside of work, Linda was dedicated to her Catholic faith and attended weekly mass. She was an avid volunteer for the St. Vincent DePaul Society and was always eager to help others. Linda was a part of a sewing club and the League of Women Voters. She enjoyed crafting, going to garage sales and nurturing her grandchildren. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and loved ones. Linda will be deeply missed.

Linda will always be remembered by her daughters, Deborah (Stephen) Hissong of Seville, Kimberly Santagata of Warren, Diane Orr of Warren and Laurie Groom of Charleston, IL; 12 loved grandchildren; five beloved great grandchildren; sister, Susan Malloy of Warren and numerous loved nieces, nephews and life-long friends.

Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by 2 brothers, one sister and an infant son.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Linda on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at St. Mary and Joseph Church, 232 Seneca Ave NE, Warren, OH 44481.

A Funeral Mass will follow at the church at 2:30PM

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Linda’s name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of Trumbull County, 2431 Niles Rd SE Warren, OH 44484.
