Martha D Jesionek

Macedonia - Martha Dorothy Jesionek passed away peacefully September 27, 2025, in Macedonia, OH.

Martha was born July 5, 1929, in Southington, OH to the late Michael & Cecelia Halavick. She was the middle of three children; her brothers Rudolph & Edward preceded her in death.

Martha met her beloved husband, John, at her parents’ tavern in Warren; they married July 19, 1958. They were dedicated to each other and their family until John’s death in 2017. Along with John, Martha provided years of compassionate, devoted, meticulous & loving care to their disabled son, Michael, who preceded them in death in 1996 after a long struggle with metachromatic leukodystrophy. Their youngest daughter, Christina (Chriss) Wagner, passed away in 2022.

Martha was a homemaker. She was loved by family and friends for her gentle, patient and welcoming disposition. She was an excellent cook and baker; her kolache and pies were revered. Together with John and their friends & family, she enjoyed polka dancing. She loved gardening and house plants. Her hobbies also included sewing and crocheting. She had an ornery sense of humor, and she loved to laugh.

Martha and John were longtime members of catholic churches in Warren (St Joseph) and later in Ambridge, PA (Good Samaritan); they were active volunteers in their parishes.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Sandra Jesionek; son, Paul (Sophia) Jesionek; grandchildren, Jacob (Hadley Jaeger) Jesionek, Mykaela (David Young), Nathan Wagner, Jared (Katie) Jesionek & Jack (Anna) Jesionek. Martha will be remembered by them for her steadfast dedication to her family and her advice to “just be yourself”.

Family and friends may pay their respects to Martha on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 12:30 pm until 1:20 pm at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE, Warren where a funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 1:30 pm with Father Christopher Cicero as celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Champion.
