Mary Ann P. Yasechko, 94, of Howland Township is now resting comfortably in the arms of our Lord upon entering her eternal home on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
Mary Ann was born on August 14, 1930 in Uniontown, PA. She was a 1948 graduate of South Union High School and married Joseph “Sonny” Yasechko two years later. They shared 30 years of marriage before losing her Sonny in 1980. Together they were blessed with three wonderful children, Maureen (Martin) Reymann of Barberton, Robert (Mary) Yasechko of Niles and Ronald Yasechko of Niles; four grandchildren, Hex Reymann, Alexa Reymann, Matthew Reymann and Stephanie Yasechko and a niece and five nephews.
Besides her husband, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Augustine and Delores Richardson and her parents, Andrew and Ann (Karpus) Meter.
Mary Ann’s faith was deep. She was a lifetime member of St. James Church, now St. Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Parish. Mary Ann strongly believed in the power of prayer and so began each day giving thanks to God and asking blessings upon the world, her family and friends. In particular, she prayed daily for her grandchildren who truly meant everything to her.
Besides being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mary Ann was a dedicated employee of Macy’s, formerly known as Strouss’ and then Kaufmans, as a sales clerk in various departments for 55 years. Outside of work, she spent most of her time in the kitchen preparing delicious meals and baking a variety of cookies to share with friends, co-workers and family. Mary Ann also enjoyed garage “sailing,” collecting dolls and gardening. She was especially fond of decorating her home, which she dearly loved, and took tremendous pride in her yard by adorning it with lovely statues and beautiful pink flowers, since pink was her favorite color.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Mary Ann on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 12 to 1pm at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish - Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE Warren, OH 44483.
A Funeral Mass will follow at the church on Tuesday at 1pm.
