Cortland- Nicholas Joseph “Nick” Stoian, 38, of Cortland, made his transition to his heavenly home on Thursday afternoon from injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident.
Nick was born August 20, 1986 in Warren, the son of Ted and Georgann (Ceglia) Stoian and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 2004 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts with an emphasis in English from Youngstown State University.
Nick was employed for over the last 10 years as a warehouse supervisor with AVI Food Service and was a member of St. Robert Church, Cortland.
Nick’s passion for sports lead him to being a coach for soccer and baseball, a participant in his Fantasy Football League, and supporter of the Lakeview Athletic Association. His family was always his top priority, and he never missed any of his children’s activities. He always looked forward to taking his son Mason to play games at D&D along with the yearly Cinco de Augusto trip with his special group of friends that occurred for over the last 20 years.
Nick leaves behind to hold onto his precious memories; the love of his life, his wife of over 12 years the former Jennifer Cvengros, whom he married on November 5, 2011; his children whom were the apple of his eye, Mason, Ronin and Mina; his parents Ted (Georgann) Stoian; his brother, T.J. (Katie) Stoian; his father and mother-in-law John (Connie) Cvengros; his brother-in-law, Joseph Cvengros; his dogs Reygen and Shiloh; his niece and God-daughter, Kinsley; nieces, Matilda Stoian and Emelia Cvengros; nephew, Archer Cvengros; Godmother, Kim “Mimi” Ceglia; Godfather, George Ceglia and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from the Stoian, Cvengros, Cetina and Ceglia families, along with countless friends.
Nick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Nick (Elisabeth) Stoian, his maternal grandparents George (Ann) Ceglia and his uncle Nicholas Stoian.
Family and friends may pay their respects to Nick on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 3:50 pm at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, where a memorial service will take place at 4:00 pm with Father Ray Thomas as celebrant.
The family requests that if you plan to attend the calling hours or memorial service to honor Nick, please wear your favorite sport team apparel because of his passion for sports.
