Patricia Anne "Pat" Ettinger

Warren - Patricia Anne “Pat” Ettinger, 81, of Warren took her last breath on the morning of April 10, 2026 just as her son, Fr. John, concluded a Mass he celebrated at her bedside with her husband, Earl and son, Brother Lawrence Thérèse.

Pat was born on June 1, 1944 and grew up in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was the oldest of three children of Anthony Sr. and Josephine Gumley. After high school, she studied nursing briefly. She then became the manager of the Sun Drug store in New Castle.

On May 1, 1971, she married Earl Ettinger and moved to Warren. She handed on her Catholic faith to her children, and she made sure Earl and her sons were always well-fed. She also enjoyed a wide variety of crafts and built a pond in their backyard with several koi fish and lilies. After her sons finished high school, she worked full-time as a volunteer as the office manager and church sacristan of the former Saint Joseph Church in Warren. She enjoyed working with Fr. John Turk and continued working there for 20 years.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; sons, Fr. John Ettinger and Brother Lawrence Thérèse (a.k.a Bob), a member of the Congregation of Saint John, and a sister, Syl (Dave) Drobny of Pulaski. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Lynn, a brother, Anthony Gumley Jr., and her parents.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Pat on Monday, April 13, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 11am at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish - Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE Warren, OH 44483. All guests are asked to arrive directly to the church.

A Private burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Champion.
