Phyllis M. Rhodes

Warren – Philomena “Phyllis” Rhodes, 94, of Warren passed away on Friday evening, January 3, 2025 at Gillette Nursing Home.

Phyllis was born on February 1, 1930 in Warren, OH, a daughter of Federico and Concetta (Testa) DiFrancesco.

Following high school, Phyllis worked for the Trumbull Lamp Division of General Electric and then went on to have 22 year career as a lab technician at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Outside of work, and in addition to being a proud homemaker, Phyllis enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She liked a good game of cards, listening to Italian music on Sunday mornings and collecting angels. Phyllis was also an accomplished beautician and was a fabulous cook and baker. Most of all, she loved and cherished her family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Phyllis will always be remembered by her grandsons, Jason (Francesca) Rhodes of Cortland, Eric (Lexi) Rhodes of Warren and Kyle Rhodes of Tampa, FL; great grandchildren, Antonio, Giada, Carmela, Vincent, Von, Vance, Willow and Lila Rhodes; sister-in-law, Lois DiFrancesco; nephews, Rick DiFrancesco, Joe DiFrancesco and Joe Russomanno; nieces, Kathi Jo Foreman and Cindy (Mike) Jones; great nephews, Michael and Matthew Jones; great niece, Kara Jones; daughter-in-law, Linda Rhodes and many loved cousins and friends.

Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Rhodes, who passed in 2010; her son, Federico “Fred” Rhodes; brother, Cosmo J. DiFrancesco; sister, Antonitte “Toni” Russomanno and niece, Debbie DiFrancesco.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Phyllis on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 4 to 6pm at The Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE.

A Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 11am at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish – St. James Church, 2532 Burton St. SE Warren, OH 44484. All guests are asked to arrive directly to the Church.

Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
