Howland - Robert A. “Bob” Battison, 65, of Howland passed away on Tuesday morning, January 30, 2024 at his home.

Bob was born on April 28, 1958 in Warren, OH, a son of Milford Sr. and Mary (Fabian) Battison.

Bob was a 1976 graduate of Howland High School and went on to work in sales. He worked many sales jobs, beginning at Lee’s Appliance and eventually retiring early from S.A. Barnes Office Supplies and Furniture.

Despite his health struggles, Bob was determined and remained humble, patient and kind to everyone he met. He was the person who lit up every room with his presence and his smile. Bob proudly served on his high school reunion committee, remaining loyal and passionate towards the community in which he was raised. He was devoted to his faith and served in many ministries at Blessed Sacrament and St. Robert’s Catholic Churches. Bob enjoyed tending to his garden and bird watching. He had a magnetic personality, not only with other people, but also with animals, especially his cat. Bob was also an amazing cook and was always prepared with a spread of food for every occasion. Bob’s hot peppers were always on hand. He also enjoyed traveling, camping with friends and family and vacationing in North Myrtle Beach. Most of all, Bob left an impression of hospitality and positivity on everyone he encountered. He loved his family, cherished his friends, and showed kindness to strangers. Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob will always be remembered by his wife of 37 wonderful years, Susan (Bixler) Battison of Howland; sons, Alex Battison of Howland and Brad Battison of Youngstown; siblings, Pat (Joe) Boyle of Howland, Milford Jr. (Renee) of Cortland and Michael (Kym) Battison of Howland; sister-in-law, Nancy (Tim) Onder of Lordstown; brothers-in-law, William T. (Kathy) Bixler and Robert (Patti) Bixler of Howland and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sisters, Carole Lane and Cindy (Dan) Rydzak and his beloved in-laws, Betty and Bill Bixler.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Bob during Memorial Calling Hours on Thursday evening, February 8, 2024 from 5 to 7 at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd NE Warren, OH and again on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 10 to 11 at St Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 4659 OH-46, Cortland, OH.

A Funeral Mass will follow at the church at 11am with Rev. Ryan Furlong presiding.

Inurnment will be in All Souls Cemetery.
