Steven “Steve” Gumont

Champion – Steven “Steve” Gumont, 74, of Champion, passed away peacefully at his home early Saturday morning, November 15, 2025.

Steve was born September 29, 1951, in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of George and Adrian (Keener) Gumont. He moved to the Warren area as a young child, where he later graduated from Champion High School.

Steve spent many years working in the steel industry, dedicating his career to LTV Steel Co. before his retirement. Hard-working and dependable, he took great pride in his craft and the relationships he formed throughout his career.

Outside of work, Steve had many passions. He enjoyed the quiet of a good fishing spot and had a remarkable talent for woodworking, creating pieces that reflected his patience and skill. Above all, he cherished his role as a father and grandfather. Steve never missed an activity or milestone in his grandchildren’s lives, and his presence and support meant everything to his family.

He leaves behind his three sons, Ben (Andrea) Gumont, Adam Gumont, and Zach Gumont; his five grandchildren, Allie, Emma, Dylan, Josslyn, and Lincoln Gumont.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jennifer Gumont.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. until 5:25 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd NE, Warren, where a funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m.

Private burial will take place at Champion Township Cemetery.
