Thelma G. Powell

Warren - Thelma G. Powell, 91, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 21, 1932 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of John Godiciu and Laura Bell.

She married Robert P. Powell, “the boy next door”, on August 26, 1950 and they shared 62 years of wedded bliss before Robert passed away in 2013.

Thelma was a devoted housewife. Thelma and her husband, Robert, ventured out and opened their own business in 1955. They owned and operated AUDIAX COMMUNICATIONS for 45 years before turning the business over to their son, Richard, in 2000. In 1994 she was also appointed Secretary-Treasurer of Lari-Jo Inc.

She enjoyed camping and traveling, as well as playing bingo and slot machines at various casinos.

She is survived by her children, Richard Powell (Fiancée, Lorri Shaulis), Edward (Autumn) Powell, Laura (Joseph) Custodio, and nieces she raised Suzie (David) Olgetree, and Mary Ann Questa. Her grandchildren Kayla and Matthew Powell, Chad and Shanon Powell, Amanda Herbert, Ryan Alcantara, and one great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert and a daughter, Roberta (Bobbi Jo) Powell.

Thelma will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her for her passion for life.

A private service with immediate family was held to celebrate Thelma’s life.
